When I was practicing tae kwon do there was a woman in our class who was barely over five feet tall and weighed maybe 120 lbs. She started with tae kwon do to protect herself from an abusive husband, and she earned her black belt.
One day she was dropping off a friend at LAX and some guy tried to grab her purse (a shoulder bag). Apparently she whipped around with an elbow to his face, he fell backward and hit his head on a parked car, and lay unconscious on the sidewalk. She said that it took the airport police a bit longer than usual to arrest him because they first had to stop laughing.
