Short hedges vs Long hedges

Dear All:

I am so confused about these terms: Short hedges and long hedges. If I short sell stocks by borrowing from the broker , is it called short hedges? then what does the long hedges mean? Could you please give an example.

Don’t think you are making much sense here…a hedge for your longs would be shorting… and vis-versa
