So where did the plane go?

They just saw a mystery radar blip. It could have been MH370, but it might have been something else. They are searching the Malacca Straits just in case. Also, if the plane had indeed crashed in the Malacca Straits, this means it would have flown over the entire Malaysian Peninsula, including populated areas, and no one noticed? Imagine if some stray 777 flew over Texas or something.

I totally agree. When’s North West ever going to stop breast feeding?

I don’t know how much more “global” can you get when you have at least 10 countries (some of them would be considered world leaders) involved “searching” for the aircraft.

I mean, like other people said, it’s a commercial airline with, i am assuming, civilians who can be any one of us!

Or the Dilithium Crystals caused a problem in the matter/antimatter generators resulting in a Gravtion Pulse Field, and the plane went into a gravitonic warp burst.

This isn’t global?? My personal interest is that I flew with Malaysia air 2 weeks ago, on this exact flight. This affects everybody that ever travels via plane, when they figure out what ever happened to it, they will implement new reforms in the industry. The 777 is one of the best planes in existence, this is like a Volvo or something that is renown for having the latest gadgets and being a safe car suddenly bursting into flames for no explicable reason.

I’m sure 777s fly over Texas all the time. Most countries don’t have the resources or paranoia to scamble fighters to intercept every blip.

Some of you love conspiracy theories.

I remember thinking “what would it have looked like to the rest of us if the ‘shoe bomber’ had succeeded in 2001.” The answer is “more or less like the Malaysian plane incident.” I have been running under this hypothesis, but there are problems with it.

  1. It’s strange that no group has stood up to take credit. Usually this is what happens shortly after a terror incident. It’s possible that they are keeping quiet so as to hide the method they used, but a terror incident doesn’t really help a terrorist’s cause much if no one takes credit. And Al Qaida at least would want to have many planes exploding at the same time, or at least within a day or two of each other.

  2. The plane seems to have been off course for some reason. If a terrorist passenger is part of the problem, it seems there would be time for a distress signal while the plane is off course. Unless one or both of the pilots is in on the plot, but in that case it is likely that there would be no need for passenger cooperation. Most passengers probably wouldn’t notice being off course if done right.

  3. The Straits of Mallaca is one of the most dangerous areas for shipping because of piracy. It’s possible that pirates or terrorists shot down the plane with a SAM. But again, why the plane would be off course and why a terrorist group wouldn’t take credit are still odd.

  4. It’s possible that some kind of equipment failure led the plane off course, but pilots would presumably report this. If the plane strayed into airspace outside of the flight plan, it’s possible that a military unit or trainee shot it down with a missile and there is a cover-up going on because of embarrassment.

Still, mighty strange.

And yeah, I didn’t like the end of Lost. It’s like the writers had ADD and then accidentally raided their parents medicine cabinent. The way it wrapped up was entertaining on its own, but basically made you disappointed that the writers were making it up as they go along and chose a cheap way out.

I am actually starting to believe in #4, as nearly impossible as it sounds.

Because i don’t think a normal terrorist attack would be handled this way, i think one country (or more, since there are more than one race on the plane) would step up and victimize themselves. Think about it!

Why is nobody taking the blame? Easy, the terrorists are not going to announce themselves and the military who accidentally shoot it down certainly wouldn’t step up and taket he blme.

But what’s REALLY interesting is that no country is also playing the victim here. Even China (because the plane is going to China and one can only assume most passengers are Chinese and that’s their target) isn’t claiming that they are the victim/ target in this case.

There is a US military base in Singapore i believe, and if a missile fired that close into the area, they would most certainly know… that’s all i want to say.

Hard for me to believe the pilots were in on it - they were total bros:

If this new bit is true, the plane never went off course. Satellite looking into missing Malaysia flight detects 'suspected crash area’

Because I fly often and follow news outside my borders.

A terrorist group called The Chinese Martyrs’ Brigade claimed responsibility. It was mentioned yesterday during the Charlie Rose show.

BTW, if the paste function worked, I would have pasted the article from the NY Post.

Jonty Rossi can board my plane any day.

There are over 100 satellites and they choose to release information from one of the satellites after 4 days…??

The Malaysians dismissed that evidence this morning. Overall, this has to be one of the most poorly handled search missions ever.

I’m starting to believe the theory that the Malaysian military accidentally shot down the plane and is attempting to cover it up.
