Specific question in ethics reading

CFAI text, level 3, book 1: pg 122. Middle of page, last sentence under “Records Are Property of the Firm”: “For future use, the member or candidate must re-create the supporting records at the new firm with information gathered through public sources or directly from the covered company and NOT FROM MEMORY or sources obtained at the previous employer.” Is that correct, or is this a typo? Are we supposed to get out memory erased or a lobotomy after leaving a firm?

Hehehe… Looks like a typo to me.

I guess it mean you need to collect the supporting information from public sources or directly from covered company. You should not use the source obtained from your previous employer or draw purely from your memory without any supporting info (ie. if your only source is your memory, it is not acceptable)
