Per an earlier comment, Anakin probably could have won despite Obiwan having the high ground in that instance. Anakin was stronger and more powerful, and even though Obiwan said “it was over”, Anakin could probably have jumped somewhere else, threw something at Obiwan, or whatever. Actually, why didn’t he just force throw some lava - that’s what I would do. Anyway, his arrogance and rage caused him to make a bad decision. He was consumed by the dark side both spiritually and physically. I mean, the guy became a robot as a result.
And generally since the advent of ballastic warfare, pre-nuclear warheads, having an equally matched force on higher ground could reasonably ensure success. (I thought this final battle was one of the few redeeming qualities of the Prequels, which also had some entertaining (but meaningless to ohai) space battles.)
You’re really stretching to try and make a point. It doesn’t make a lot of sense for him to refer to a cloaking device in the first place then if they don’t exist… It’s pretty heavily implied.
Eh, in my original post I said “one of the best”, not ‘the best’, but I’ve got work to do so we’ll just let sleeping dogs lie. I also need to rewatch the originals again, slipped up with cloaking device bit. TBF I have been spending a lot of time in Prequel territory (The Clone Wars and Rebels)
