Finished 23% of the Q-bank and am scoring an average of 69% with a pretty wide variance. Started to do Schweser Exam 1 AM and got crushed, so I retreated back to QBank. Not quite sure what to do- feel like I’m running out of time here.
I’m in the same boat, have retreated back to Qbank to redo the weak areas. Unless someone can offer better suggestions.
Looks like it’s a sign that you need to spend more time on re-reading. The tricky part of the CFAI curriculum is that they decay quickly in your head if you don’t keep refreshing / using them. That’s why I found the Secret Source very valuable in the last month, because you can glance at any essential materials in any topics regularly to slow the memory decay.
Hey, you guys are doing well. I was in the 60-65 region a week and half ago. Now thankfully 70+. Keep doing as much of Q bank as possible. I am 45% level. keep hitting it whenever I can. It works. And Secret Sauce is a great idea too.
Just do an exam. Review what you did wrong, put in some extra time in those subjects and make another exam. Making multiple exams ensures you have used all the material in practice. Reviewing it properly will ensure it will stick on D-Day. Last year I managed to increase my FSA score from 50% to >70% in the last week (and >70% on the real thing) just by doing this. Currently I’m only scoring around 60% on my first practice exam(s). So I’m having the same game plan as last December but with an extra week for studying. Since my retention for Level II seems to be lower as I just don’t care about the majority of the topics… That’s why they don’t stick and currently it seems as if they never will. Luckily there are the final two weeks where I can force myself to properly study since D-Day will be close.
My experience is that you need to invest heavily initially to break through that “Eureka” barrier. But once you have broken the barrier, everything starts to make sense and you will see significant improvement in mock test scores. So don’t despair yet. Keep crunching and you could reach the critical mass moment in the last week. It could be a close call but it’s not impossible.
