Status check -- where are you?

Haven’t posted much since level II… hope you all are coming along in your studies. Just curious where you guys and gals are in terms of reading (curriculum or schweser/stalla), EOCs, practice tests, approximate hours logged etc… I’ve taken the same approach as Level I and II. Stalla videos, Stalla study guides and EOCs, and CFAi EOCs. Also, made note cards for main concepts, definitions, and formulas. I’m finishing up GIPs by Friday and will take my first Schweser Mock on Saturday (reality check time). For Level I in 2009 I logged roughly ~420 hours, Level II in 2010 roughly ~340 hours, and Level III just surpassed ~200 hours and hoping to log 100-125 this last month. Wish I would have done more, but plan to turn it up a notch for the final month and hope it will be enough.

Still trying to finish the last half of book 6. I don’t remember what I read a month ago. I’m toast.

i’m at my desk at work, secretly popping up qbank whenever i can - just finishing off 60 personal wealth management questions. I’ve gone through 2012 qbank questions and my total score is 81% right. I’ve gone through schweser notes twice, and done all of their EOC questions twice. I’ve done CFAI EOC questions once, and i’m going through those in the evenings when i get home from work, hope to be done with the second pass later this week/early next week. then its on to mocks and sample exams… read the secret sauce everyday on the subway back & forth to work for about 45 minutes. when i type it, it sounds like i’ve done alot, but i still feel very unprepared.

I wouldn’t say that. In my opinion, the final month is more important the the previous 4, 5, 6, or 10… You can start in September, but if you peak or burnout at the wrong time, then you’re toast. Finish the readings, begin your review, and complete as many practice exams as humanily possible. You’ll be fine.

Sounds like your in good shape… when do you plan to star the mocks and samples?

will start those after i finish CFAI EOC questions and run through my “problem spots” in the curriculum a few more times. Probably will start around May 9th or so. I’m planning on taking 2 weeks off at the end of may to go balls-to-the-wall studying.

IMHO why would you say Shchweser is your reality check?! Take the cfai sample or mock. Sample is a quick 30 questions and is a more accurate reality check. Ef schweez for gauging preparedness. I will never forgive them for my consistent plus 85% scores on L2 mocks then a band 8 fail.

These threads are confidence killers for me… i’m gonna stay away from reading these from now on.

Programmer - Just to boost your confidence. I still need to read GIPS, Risk Management and Capital Market expectations in Portfolio management. Covered EOC from FI, AI, Derivatives, Equity Hopefully will cover by end of this week. Derivative EOC and examples took forever.

Skip - those samples are horrifically brutal. I have NEVER passed a CFAI “sample” exam… which i find absurdly difficult compared to mocks and even the real thing. I just took a CFAI sample and got a 53%, I think thats a new low for me. Never had so many “wtf” moments before.

at 200 hours and have SS15 - SS18 to complete…will be done by May 5. Thats about another 25 hours May 7 & 8 - making flash cards etc May 9 - 21 - do all Stalla passmaster questions May 22 - June - work CFA mocks and stalla mocks looking to log about 100 hours reviewing…worked for level II let’s see if it does the trick for 3

I start with volume 6 today, hope to have it finished in 7-10 days and then star a review, tests and Qbank.

CFAI Material - read once Stalla Guides - read once Secret Sauce - on third pass Passmaster Questions - done Live Lectures - done Video Lectures - up to SS15 CFAI EOC - completed SS 16, 17, 18, 9, 5, 4 Schweser Practice Exam Book 1 - 1st exam complete, working on 2nd

fkn hell i feel quite far behind, all ive done is the material through schweser, the 2011 mock morning, a cfai sample and EOC for individual/inst investors and FI PM.
