Ive been feeling so exhausted when I come home from work lately and coffee does not have the same effect anymore. Im wondering how you guys have the energy to stay awake to study everyday after a long work day.
15 minute power nap, nothing better.
Music… Bump some Prodigy and drive over 100 and you’ll be wide awake
i don’t get all that much done on weekdays to be honest. i just try to get as much sleep as possible during the week and go hardcore on weekends.

cool. thanks guys. My only problem with the naps is that I oversleep. Ill have to make sure to set an alarm or make my girl wake me up.
I have the opposite problem, I can’t sleep.
My immune system is all messued up after being unwell and caught up with flu. I have been sleeping so early and waking up late. Tea is no longer effective. I dunno what to do. The brain just stops working and I start nuking real easy questions too. That’s when I know I need to go to bed and rest in peace.

I have noticed that threat of using the “2 pens approach” works really well for me.
I crammed the day before the exam and my eyes started hurting me mid-exam. Being tired + very intense lighting was a bad mix, and I found myself having to re-read the question 2 or 3 times, and question myself on how many zeros there were after the decimal point a number of times.
I actually hit the gym after-work to wake up then go home, drink a cup of black tea and study ~2hours a night (give or take, lately my brain is toast after 1.5 hours and the last .5 stinks, like last night i could even do a simple currency does it appreciate or depreciate problem at the end) I’m not a big crammer. no studying the day before the exam, just rest the brain.
quick naps are the way to go. BUT…it seems like once a week, my 15-30 minute nap turns into a 3 hour nap. All of the sudden, it’s 9:45pm. I hate that feeling. Also, it seems like the amount I get accomplished when I study 2 hrs a nite during the week (except Friday, which is my day off from studying), I accomplish that much in 3-4 hours on the weekend.
Lately I have been taking 1/2 a pill of no doz every two hours or so when studying - just enough to keep a solid stream of caffiene hitting the blood stream - I try not to limit caffiene intake when not studying
If you give up coffee in the morning (i know, its tough)… You can maintain energy throughout the day, and then take your coffee/caffine at like 4 or 5 to keep you bumping to study. And if all else fails drugs
Just a power nap of half hour or sometimes longer. I noticed that if I try to study; I just hang above my books but don’t absorb anything, wasting my time anyway. So better take a powernap or run in the park.
2 words = RED BULL I also do plenty of exercise (swiiming and boxing)/ healthy eating which keeps my enerygy levels up… no heavy food…
Dude I can’t count how many times I’ve just passed out studying. Theres nothing I can do about it except not eat anything with a hint of grease.
i dozed off at 8pm last night…damn!
i think ideally you should take some time to do whatever energizes you. sometimes i will watch a funny show, other times i will mix in some work out to study time - read a section then do something physical and then go back to do the concept checker questions. i find the workout to be best, because it keeps you awake and doesnt distract you mentally.
