study material for dec exam

hi, im planning to start my level 1 study and sit for the December exam. as i read here somewhere that when we register with cfa we would get all the study materials for free? as i havent registered , is there any way i could get the study material cheaply?

Apply for a scholarship! I applied through the CFA Society of Colorado and got a scholarship for Level I June 2008. I paid $220 and I am registered and got all the CFAI materials: http://www.cfainstitute.org/cfaprog/university/scholarships.html Contact your local society and they’ll probably have an application process you’ll have to go through. I had to fill out the application at the above link, supply a resume, transcript, and a brief essay on my career goals!

im not a undergraduate nor a professor though. which scholarship did you apply?

Are you in a graduate program? If so, go here: http://www.cfainstitute.org/cfaprog/university/student_scholarship.html I used the CFA Institute Society Scholarship: http://www.cfainstitute.org/cfaprog/university/student_scholarship.html What state are you in? If you do not know your society, go here and search: http://www.cfainstitute.org/society/societies.html

yeah im doing a postgrad degree in England… Who is eligible to apply for the scholarship? Student scholarships are only available to new Level I candidates enrolling and registering for the first time. Applicants must be full-time college or university students in their final undergraduate year, scheduled to receive a U.S. bachelor’s degree or comparable non-U.S. degree, or full- or part-time graduate students. Applicants must attend the same university where the sponsoring professor teaches. Applicants must fulfill all CFA candidate requirements to enroll and must confirm receipt of their degree in writing to progress to the next exam. dont think im eligible for the student scholarship as it’s only for last year undergraduate student. but will try the society one…

Try this site and see if you can find some contacts: http://www.cfauk.org/

oh shyte! thanks. and doworkson , it wasn’t me that you had a tough day alright i havent even started looking for it jesus.

Unless there are hoards of people falling over to take the CFA AND ALSO know about the scholarships, I don’t see any reason why you wouldn’t get one. But then again, I don’t want to promise anything!!! GOOD LUCK SUNNYDAY!!!
