Study Plan/Study Group

The FRM website mentions a 15 week study plan which I can’t locate. Does anybody have it or another study plan they have used which is effective for level 1? Also if there are any study groups in New Jersey for the May 2015 Level 1 I’m interested in joining or starting one up. Thanks

I also could not find that but you can prepare your own study plan ( using the GARP 2016 reading objective sheet) as per your your priorities.

I know some people start with QA than FM&P , V&RM and Foundation.

You can PM if you want to join some online group for NJ for May 16.

One should make study plan of at least 250 Hours and allocate only 50 Hours for Foundations of Risk Management and Rest 200 Hours must be allocated to subject like VaR, FMP and Quant. Quant can take more than 75 hours if you are not from quant background. So distribute hours according to your own strength.

Practice questions immediately after completion of topics. Don’t wait to finish whole book and then practicing it.

One can also map topics like Regression (Quant) with CAPM (Foundations) because these two topics are highly correlated. Topics like Parametric and non parametric distributions (Quant) should be mapped with VAR topics (Valuations). Mapping will mix academic of quant with practical approach of valuation. I have seen BT is very good in mapping those topics in thr question banks.

By such mapping one can reduce number of hours of study.

Thanks guys this helps immensely. @FIN4AS will PM you. Do you find the study groups effective? What’s the typically format of an online group. How does it work?
