Suggestions for good pen to use?

Im looking for a high quality pen to increase speed and penmanship on AM that meets CFA guidlines, any suggestions?

As a follow up, if I cross out something in the answer box, does that mean the grader will not grade it? Should I put 100 lines though it to be sure?? Sounds ignorantly obvious but Im just trying to cover all my corners here. Thanks in advance!

I’m a fan of the Zebra F-301.

I use these. Great pen and it erases quickly.

I’d use a quill pen.

You’ll probably fail, but you’ll look really classy doing so.

Dont use an erasable pen. It might create a mess due to papers friction.

I would use Mont Blanc- Albert Einstein edition; for the following reasons:

  • it has Einstein in the name; helps in answering

  • it’s a French brand; helps in Ethics’ debatable topics

  • it fits the stereotype of us (in the UAE), living a lavish life, while still riding camels and live in tents. I’ll get a bunch of them as they’re disposable.

Why should one spend time erasing? Strike out the section, write again. CFAI gives more than 2-3 times the required papers in the answer sheet anyway!

@Majician. I was thinking the same thing!

@Audacious. Your crazy! How much does that puppy cost?

@Sooraj. If I put one line through any answer on the grading section of the test, the CFA will automatically not grade it correct?

Thanks for the suggestions!

thanks for the compliment

They’ll not grade what is crossed. Just be sure you cross it not underline it. In the exam alot of the crazy stuff happens.

I’m sticking with the Pilot G-2’s for the exam, they’ve been good to me in my preparation’s thus far. Will probably go squiggly line too, when it comes to changing answers. People love a good squiggly, and I will do my part to brighten the grader’s day. I was thinking of maybe also writing some inspirational notes for them, like “You are really grading the heck out of this exam!” or “Keep up the good grading, sir or madam!”

I think they’d appreciate that.

I’ve heard horror stories about erasable pens. I wouldn’t use them.

Whatever pen you want to use, start using that brand now, so you get used to it.

I used that pen just because they’re so cool and I couldn’t resist, but this might give someone pause…

Item: Frixion Point Erasable Gel Ink pen.

*Note: Erasable pens are not recommended for use on legal or office documents. Do not expose to extreme temperatures (<14 degrees Farenheit;>140 degrees Farenheit) If pen is exposed to temperature that reaches 140 degrees Farenheit, the ink will be colorless when writing. To restore color, cool to at least 14 degrees Farenheit in freezer and the ink will again write in color.

The Pilot G-2 0.7mm is a damn solid pen.

Wow amazing good reviews for Pilo G-2. Thanks Tommy and wct2010 for recommendation! And thank you everyone else. Great input.
