yes. He said he was trying to run out the clock and the WR should have went stronger to the ball. So he makes no sense on one front and throws his player under the bus on the other.
agreed. he should’ve just grounded the ball. why try to snipe a pass through defenders? this is more a QB error than a coaching error. i know he’s human, but did he not see the CB converging on his WR? a much better pass would’ve been a high arch throw to his RB which was wide open at the time.
The NFL front office must be ecstatic! The face of the NFL is now Tom Brady-Julian Edelman…as opposed to Richard Sherman-Marshawn Lynch. NFL doesn’t get any of my money anyway but for all those NFL executives a marketing win.
So the dipsht throws the ball from the 1 yard line despite having a top 2 running back. Then another blockhead goes offsides negating the advantage of forcing the team to move the ball rather than take a knee. Finally, don’t forget the thuggist street fight on the field. What a joke of a game.
Football is about as real as wrestling these days.
Did you watch the game? Or any NFL game this year? If so, then the NFL got some of your money.
Actually, now that I think about it, the NFL still got some of your money, even if you didn’t watch it. You bought a Pepsi, Pepsi gave some of your money to NBC, NBC gave it to the NFL.
He could have defended the call and explained why it wasn’t a stupid call. Instead, he flat out said it was a bad call. I don’t know what relationship he and Carroll have, but it’s pretty unusual for coaches to criticize play calling.
Malcolm Butler (the interceptor) said that they worked on that several times during the week, because they anticipated it. He recognized it and was able to jump the pass.
If that’s true, then is it still that strange of a call? I mean, the Pats worked on defending that during the week.
