Super Bowl ending

Pete Caroll should be fired for not giving it to the Bear. Discuss.

Hindsight bias. If he makes the catch, Carroll is a genius.

Why would he be a genius? They 're within a few yards and have a RB the Pats can’t stop, if that fails, then yea, go for the pass, but this is a running team.

Gotta run it. If he is stopped then you think about throwing it on 3rd down. Terrible play call

Truly awful call. So much awfulness.

Saddest city in the world. Just saying. No parties tonight.

I watch 1 game a year and even I know that was a terrible call

He was probably influenced by his bold and successful call right at the end of the 1st half.

Great call. He wanted to burn the clock and he had the plays to run.it down. Wanted to burn a few seconds before running it for the game. Didn’t want to give the pats anytime. Beautiful thinking.

No reason to throw on that play Crushing loss for Seattle. Just a terrible call.

Eh. Losers in the superbowl still have millions of dollars, and go home and bang supermodels. Maybe not the point, but still.

Someone send Caroll a rusty hacksaw

How would he be a genius? Are you telling me you think Lynch wouldn’t have been able to score from the 1 yard line with 2 opportunities?

did Tom Brady not look like the goofiest Herman Munster on the sideline celebrating after that botched play call or what?

Agreed.

Cowherd: “QB’s have thrown 109 passes from the 1-yard line this year. That was the first interception.”

Exactly. The Pats were expecting run. Throwing a pass isn’t exactly insane…

How many times did teams try to punch it in from the 1 and lose a fumble?

^

Geo, are you joking kid? Lynch was not in the backfield on that play. They crowded the middle because they could see the slant coming from a mile away. No time to try a cute play with the game on the line. Lynch wouldve rammed it up their throat with 3 chances to do so.

Throwing a pass isn’t insane, throwing that pass is. If you absolutely positively must run that route, at least have you TE run it.

Lynch was in the backfield, he ran a route to the left (from the backfield) as a receiver. But this begs another question, if you think throwing is the right move, maybe try play action? Especially for a mobile QB like Wilson, who could roll out and get a defender to commit thereby leaving a receiver open in the end zone, or potentially even run it himself.

I would go with a wildcat here.
