Pretty good game, I was sure the Colts would win after going up 10-0 early. That onsides kick really changed the momentum. Brees was awesome in the second half!
That was an exciting game. And I was rooting for the Saints too. I was pretty sure I was going to be disappointed after they were down 10-0 and the reporters were saying that “behind by 10” was largest gap anyone had ever closed. Then the second half happened and it was awesome. Those guys in N.O. really needed something to feel good about too, so I’m glad they won. And why didn’t we get to see more of the Saints’ cheerleaders??? their outfits sure looked better than the Colts’ cheerleaders in their chaps/leisure suits.
I was rooting for the Saints too and after 0-10 also thought “Come on! This is going to be a rout”. Love when the camera takes Manning’s losing face sitting on the bench.
As a fan of a division rival of the Saints, I’m not at all surprised that they won. Their offense can be a buzzsaw - Brees is fantastic, and there’s not a weak link among their skill players. Also, all year they had a knack of making just enough big plays on defense. Special teams was also a clear difference in the game - field goals, kickoff coverage, and the onside kick of course.
Did you guys notice how few penalties there were last night?!?! I think there were only 5 or 6 total. Unheard of in a pro game. It just goes to show you how disciplined the D-Lines and O-Lines were. The late hit on Bush was questionable. The only blunder was the late hit charged to the Saints in the last minute of the game but it didn’t end up doing any damage. The Saints needed to be perfect and they were. Hartley was 3/3 from downtown also.

I couldn’t care less about either team, but good to see that imbecile Caldwell got put in his place after blowing the Colts’ perfect season at 14-0. That was the turning point that week – any momentum they had going into the playoffs just got crushed with the loss to the Jets. I would seriously consider replacing him if I was the Colts owner.

The Saints’ MLB was a little too excited on that play.

They finished 16-3, with all 3 losses coming after Caldwell made his bonehead decision.

What are you talking about? 2 of the losses were throw-aways, and they rolled pretty easily past the Jets and Ravens in the playoffs. They had plenty of momentum. I blame the loss on the lack of Bob Sanders.

They also had a good game against baltimore. Sanders is good, but they still went 14-2 basically without him. Special teams really screwed them over (even besides the onside kick), and Freeney did almost nothing in the second half.
