Would this be wise, for the FI, Derivates, PM and Alt. ? Skip study guide and do the videos only, for these topics. Time crunch, try to figure out best strategy forward… Help…
I have the videos, and they are not for me. I learn much faster reading the study guide and reaching for CFAI whenever I need more details.
love the videos, but quite frankly if you’re looking to save time, i’d think the study guide would be faster, the videos for those sections are pretty long.
Agreed, the videos are long. However, I would not try to cut out time on either FI or Derivatives as they are pretty heavily weighted. For the PM and Alt, I would use the slides, they atleast cover the important stuff.
Thank you guys…I agree the videos, lecture notes are important, they nail the core concepts…I will go with IT guy’s suggestion on this one, seems like the better strategy and more in line with what I was thinking.
Hi guys, i am going to register for the JUNE 2010 exam …i am new to this study material thing…so when u talk of videos…are u reffering to the live Instructor-led classes or the self study CD or the online course?PLZ HELP.
self study CD
Jut111 and IT guy…does reading Alternative and PM study guide material add to comprehending the material any more than the videos do…like Quant…I thought the video was enough, David killed it although i read the study guide and same with FSA, Pete. Sorry but I would appreciate your input, I am not slacking, I am putting in all readings that I can, but need plan B, should I still be behind come May 10th.
alt = it’s ben jones. waste of time. you are better of reading the book. derivatives and pm - david hetherington is good. in fact for the derivatives would recommend hearing out DH first before reading the book. explains things quite cleanly and makes things work. in fact.
