So last night, after studying, I walk into the living room and see my wife sitting on the couch, tears streaming down her face. She had been watching another one of those Lifetime Original Movies. They’re all terrible, and she cries at most of them. That got me to thinking–Are there any movies that make you cry?
Two movies come to mind for me–Field of Dreams and The Memphis Belle. I can’t watch either one of those without tearing up.
The Lion King used to make the eyes moist, but I watched it a while back and it didn’t have the same effect.
The only movie that has ever made me well up is The Miracle Worker. Watching a child who was treated essentially like the household pet come alive and become the Keller’s daughter is quite a story.
Lion King is horrible. What a terrible lesson it teaches. He was born into a certain position and therefore must take his rightful place in society, or something to that effect. Disgraceful.
Devil’s Advocate - When Keanu Reeves’ wife commits suicide.
Cars - Disney movie about a cocky car living in the fast lane realizing he’s missing out on the best things in life.
Boyz in the Hood - Ricky gets shot right before he finds out he was accepted into college. (Menace 2 Society - same thing)
I’m sure there are others. I’m a man and can admit I cry. Unlike some of you BSD Top 2 MBA 3/3 CFAs on this board, I do have feelings, and don’t have ice water running through my veins.
