Technical Specialist/Analyst - Goldman Sachs

Does anyone have an opinion on working at Goldman Sachs? I have currently made it through two interviews and have a third in NYC. The position I’m interviewing for is Technical Specialist/Analyst. Any thoughts on what the salary might be?

Working at Goldman Sachs? I guess they’re ok; didn’t they get bought out by JP Morgan not too long ago?

I am not familiar with this Goldman Sachs place. Are they any good?

Are they a gold company? Like Bre-X Gold?

Yeah, doesn’t King Midas run that place?

Just make sure they a medical and dental plan before going further with the interview process. What was the name of the place again?

Do people from there have any opportunities after they decide to leave?

Is it just me or are Goldman women all rockets?

“rockets” Did you get term that from the show Swingtown on CBS?

Goldman Sachs, sounds like a shoe store.

Thanks for the feedback. I guess Goldman Sachs might be an alright place to work (I’m really not that stupid). My real question is does anyone know what is like to work there, what the salary and bonus might be, what are the chances of promotion? Things like that.

I mean it varies on position, deal flow within sector, make-up of deal teams, etc…either way its top notch…there is no point in even inquiring about pay, because in terms of similar positions GS will pay more than any other firm (for the most part-work you like a dog too, but that’s ok…must be the dog before you become the owner)

Goldman Sachs – never heard of’em.

Goldman Sachs? Nope, not ringing a bell

Vault? Like in Richie Rich?

actually for lower-level positions GS has been known to low-ball people on comp. their reasoning is the GS brand does so much for your resume you will probably accept the offer even if its slightly below the street.
