tell me cfai isnt posting incorrect answers...

or am i just burned out Duration for Bond A = (102.97 - 101.04) / (2 × 102.00 × 0.005) = 1.89???

this is from one of the mock exams that i got a friggin 60 on. weeeeaaaaak!!!

that looks right. assuming current price is 102, and you are shocking interest rate by 50 bps, and they’ve given you 102.97 and 101.04

1.8922

Looks right to me.

I love it when they give you the bond prices in up and down states. if rate given 1.5% and they shock it by 50 bps, you just plug in 2% and 1% for YTM, right?

with the TI BA II Plus calc… use the Bond function instead. That is faster and no need of doing as much manipulation. CP

(102.97 - 101.04) = 1.57 (2 × 102.00 × 0.005)= 1.02 1.57/1.02= 1.54 my math must be wrong somewhere in here…can someone pinpoint it please? ARRRRGH

FOUND IT! AAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH! using .4 instead of .04…ok im done for the day…that was a great waste of 30 minutes.

102.97 - 101.04 = 1.93…

102.7-101.04 is 1.93

102.97-101.04 = 1.93

unbelievable…i made that same error literally 6 different times in a row. i cannot believe that…i guess i was just rushing.
