Test Results - Feeling bummed...

Just finished my second full exam. Schweser Book 1 Exams: 1AM: 70% 1PM: 73% 2AM: 65% 2PM: 70% I am guessing alot and really feel like I don’t have much of a shot - especially when I see people here posting in the 80% on these tests and they are concerned…

do the mocks. you’ll find they are more straightforward. youre gona do great and you will pass.

those scores are fine.

you will do fine. Do not worry. There is a good chance if you get 60+ in final, you will pass

with a name like PistolPt you need to learn to relax…you are fine buddy

I have very similar marks as you, and I’m not too worried. The people (For the most part… not to generalize) who are in the 80’s and are still worried are the same type of people who leave a test saying they bombed it, yet somehow end up with a 95%. IMO, If someone were to fail with those mock results, they’d be the exception, not the rule.* *Apologies for the “He’s Just Not That Into You” reference.

thanks for the pickups. If anyone else feels good with scores like I had - please add to the post! It will make everyone feel better…

My first 2 schwesers were bad…ethics in test 1…I bombed… I think if you can hit mid 70’s in schweser you are on the right path…you have a bunch of tests to push your grades up… the best advice (which I am having trouble taking) is to go back and learn where u are wrong. FIX IT. then kill this thing

FIX > IT. then kill this thing I’ve made wonderful mistakes on the mocks. They’re fantastic mistakes to make, and learn from. I FINALLY figured out why I couldn’t get FIFO COGS translation crap through my thick skull…all because of a “high inventory, low cogs” mantra that I had engraved in my neurons from L1. I couldn’t fathom that INV and COGS might actually move in the same direction. When I figured out what I was doing I actually laughed. Ridiculous… People - this is exactly what we should be doing right now. It’s GOOD STUFF!

Am I right: Inventory calculation: FIFO: Recent exchange rate used LIFO: Older exchange rate used COGS calculation: FIFO: Older exchange rate used LIFO: Recent exchange rate used Is there a better way to understand this?

after I did all the schweser mocks and had lower 70s, i did the CFAI mocks and banged out %85AM/%80PM you’ll do fine

How do you guys think the CFAi mock will compare to the real exam? I am by no means thinking I am ready but feel like I have a pretty good chance of passing. I average just over 70% on mocks (CFAi and Schweser). Then I come on here and read how people on here are nervous with 80s and I start to get nervous… Thoughts on someone averaging around a MPS on practices chances of passing the real thing?

the only thing i know is that retakers thought last year’s mock was a joke compared to the real thing.

The thing to remember is that stupid mistakes are often balanced out by successful educated guesses. Also, there is something to be gained by knowing that the correct answer is one of the three choices right in frony of you! As long as your mechanics and basic knowledge of the topics are sound, you’re more likely to figure it out. And sometimes you can get a right answer the long way. I forgot the formula for the H-model today and so I just banged out the answer the long way – by applying a decaying growth rate to each dividend and then letting my BA II do the work through the CF function.

Dude, it’s a gift. By getting exposure to the concepts and problems you didn’t have nailed, you are sharpening the blade for the real deal. Keep the faith.

My results were very close to yours. I got about 72% avg in exam 1, and about 70% in exam 2, with the AM one being 63%. (If the real exam is anything like this, well I’m dead.) I feel pretty bummed as well - especially since I only got about 68% from the mock exams.
