Friends, Do u reccomend having another battery for calci…i havnt change my battery since i strtd using this…waz d expected life of battery ??
i bought it four months ago and pretty sure it can last for years… also on the instructions, it says the battery won’t go out suddenly, it promise you half a year before you have to change the battery (it’s just not as clear as it did before)
I have used my BA II+ since 2001 w/o the battery dying. I just changed it a few days ago so i wont have to worry about it next weekend.
GREAT question! I was worried about this myself but the fact that you are “alerted” when the battery’s dying makes me feel better… still going to buy a back-up nonetheless… plus my HP 12-C.
I am going to bring two BA II calculators, if for no other reason than to impress the ladies.
^ The 12c is way sexier
I’ve had several calculators in my time and can assure you, that TI batteries usually last for years…and it’s true that you’ll notice when the battery starts getting low (the writing on the screen will gradually become lighter), but then you’ll still have several hours, if not days to go.h
The TI website states that the battery should last about 1500 hours.
I’m bringing a pack of Duracell to the testing center anyway - just in case! You never know…
…now that i think about it who needs a calculator?
Thanks guys…
The marginal benefit from bringing extra batteries exeeds the cost of failing if your calc dies
Lol Nick, that’s classic! But that would also mean, I should bring extra shoes, socks, 2 lunches, and also have someone follow me to the center in their own car, just in case mine breaks down! You guys are making me nervous!!!
Battery on mine started to fade about 4 years ago, but still chugging along.
Considering the probability of the calculator breaking down, the expected payoff from the time spent on going down to the store for a new battery makes for a questionable NPV. I could just utilize the backup calculator located between my ears should the worst happen. It’s not on the list of allowable calculators but I think they wouldn’t catch me.
