Just for my knowledge, I kind of sensed lot of grudge against the iron lady. My counterparts are all Scots, Irish and English & hence this question as I sensed such a feeling…
If you’re a liberal (pro union, pro government jobs, pro public things) then you might dislike Thatcher.
Hence, my joke about Hell being privatized. I personally like Thatcher’s record, but I might be biased considering my choice of profession. I’m a free market capitalist that generally hates: unions, government spending, government employees, and public services.
Thatcher inherited a country that basically was on strike the whole time and was a dump filled with people who wanted more handouts for works. Today the UK is once again prosperous, more so than the US for the first time in 150 years, and London is now a world capital unrivaled by even NYC, in my opinion.
The US needs a Thatcher. I think India could use one too.

the people who speak out in support of thatcher give the reasons that tikka’s given above which time is proving wrong. britain is a mess,london in prosporous yes but the north is fucked. income inequality is the highest,manufacturing is dead,unemployment is high.
