IMO, I think doing all the MC and vignettes is a given. I use to think the other questions were too time consuming. But, aving failed L2 before and now looking at these questions, I can see they would’ve helped me a lot. I don’t think doing each question to the fullest is necessary, but at least read the question and try to summarize the answer then check the answer description. I have found a few things that Schweser totally missed on. Even some of the vignettes had were more involved than what Schweser would leave you to believe. Just an FYI.
I am getting misty eyed reading this thread. Been trying to preach this since Nov and got a lot of slack for it. (IMO)The EOC questions do not need to be completed to the fullest extent. but these questions are composed most like the exam (IMOP) so getting familiar with style of the questions was the bigger takeaway for me and my preparation for my second round of L2.
Hey guys. Just finished the last of the EOCs tonight. I gotta say, going through these have really helped me clean up anything schweser left out and then some. I never really got how to do swaps last year so I totally just guessed on that section. CFAI will help you with anything in derivatives and I highly recommend taking the time to do the problems in this section all the way through.
I did all MC/vignette CFAI EOC’s last year and did about 1/3 of the other ones. I failed so maybe it didn’t matter too much but nevertheless I am still going to do a good chunk of them. I’ve done all the MC EOC’s already and will go through the other ones especially in derivatives. Last year I was shaky on derivatives but after doing all the EOC’s, it became one of my strongest subjects and I scored >70 (probably close to 100).
Thanks for the comments - a very important point!
doing end of chapter questions are extremely important for level 2! helped me get the feel of an original exam!
I rolled the dice and have only been working the Stalla PM/EOC questions and the multiple choice/item set questions in CFA. I’m hoping 10 or so Schweser/Stalla/CFA Mocks and John Harris notes/problems can put me over the top in May and early June.
Do what it takes in order to understand/know the material. If this means doing all the EOC questions-then do them. I am personally focusing on the EOC questions during my review period for the more heavily weighted areas: FSA, Equity, Corp Fin, FI, Ethics, and will probably dable a little bit with the other sections.
EOC questions are the only thing i have for practice, which is scaring me right now.
how are the open-ended/“essay answer” EOC questions similar to what you’ll see on the real exam, which is all MC? i don’t get how these are any more helpful then just reading the material…
@ CFABLACKBELT - how long did it take u to finish the eoc questions? - i know everyones situation is different just trying to get a feel for it. I’m doing the EOC for the heavily weighted areas and Schweser for the rest, but listening to the l2 re-takers i may want to focus solely on the eoc questions. thanks.
my may strategy is week one schwesser SS then just CFAI EOC MC’s the rest of the time…then mocks and revisions the two weeks before the exam. I pray to god it works.
Hey guys… someone else asked the question as well… for those of you who were able to go through the eoc questions, how long did it take? I’m planning on doing that in 10 -14 days. Is that possible?
I have been doing the all the EOC questions but skipped a couple calculation intensive ones. I have been spending about 3 hours a day for the past 2.5 weeks and have two books left.
