We sound pretty similar (except that you did much better in Mock-- I was at 73.33% for both).
Just like the mock, the real exam seemed about equal in difficulty from morning/evening and I’m very vague on my score.
It took me about 1:40 for morning and 2:05 for afternoon (with a break). I had enough time to do most of the morning twice and changed a few answers, not confident that the changes were good though.
I know I didn’t fail miserably, but I don’t think I ‘killed it’ either. I’m sure it’s 65-75%.
you kind of lost the privilege to call this exam “easy”.
I am not discounting any congratulations due to a devoted and ambitious test taker but… let’s be realistic and respectful to people rightfully feeling worried about their performance
Back to the OP’s question : Equity and fixed income troubled me more on the AM rather than the PM section. Had to make plenty educated guesses for both parts and in some instances chose by exclusion… I am not too optimistic about it but not too pessimistic either… I think I stand a fair chance if luck is in my favour.
I will start some preliminary level II quant material just in case I’m on the lucky side and hopefully get a good headstart for June!
Wishing everyone BEST of luck! Hang in there and try to forget about it for the next 2 months
One thing I would recommend for all first time takers, is write down your confidence levels here because I can guarantee it will drain away quite dramatically as the results day approaches. This is especially true for those who choose to get ongoing updates of how everyone went during the exam.
In my opinion, the very best gauge for how you did is straight after the exam, but the voices inside your head and the posts you read here will start to convince you that you may be suffering from dillusions early on and in fact you did actually fail.
At all 3 levels, I was strongly confident I had passed straight after the exam (and did) but by results day, I had forgotten so much from the exam day that I was almost convinced that I had failed.
By writing down your confidence level here (or just at home for yourself) you can look back at that and be reminded that you did do well on the exam and provide at least some help against the voices that will invariably start talking negatively in your head in about 6 weeks time.
Good luck to all - I am sure at least 35% of you passed!!!
I absolutely never go back and change my answers, or even double check for that matter. If I didn’t know it an hour ago, I still don’t. Then again by the end of my first run through I just want to get out of there and forget everything… this is no different lol
I think that all of us who sat for the exam should be proud that we went out and did our best on Saturday and I sincerely hope we all pass.
Like many here I found 1 session tougher than the other - for me the AM was tougher than the PM. I felt the exam was similar to the CFAI Mock - the questions were fair and straightforward, but you had to read them carefully.
Now all we have to do is enjoy our free time and wait for the results
Some awful postings here, not that im suprised. This forum around exam time is just a confidence killer and just shows the maturity level of some of the candidates…check the level 3 forum in late May, very very little of this showboating, one can understand now why the charter isnt awarded until some life experience is gained.
Having said that, based on the Level I June 2012 results analysis, it is estimated that the Minimum Passing Score for Level I June 2012 is somewhere between 64% and 68%. It’s likely to be 64%, but more data would be needed to further confirm this.
I woke up at 4:30 a.m. and took a 100 question Schweser exam on only the “hard” questions and on sections 1-16 (as I felt sections 17 & 18 would be relatively easy for me). I scored a 78. The morning I thought was easier than the afternoon. I had about 5 questions left in the second half with 30 minutes left so went back over all the questions I was “iffy” about. I counted 35 questions that I was not definitely sure of the answer. If all questions I knew fall in my favor I am hoping for a 175/240.
