Higgs, are you drunk? This was no extrapolation on the the new emerging racial dynamics of America. It was just amusing that progress was met with such swift backlash and a victim mentality which they have spent the past year accusing everyone else of.
Ha ha, interesting. I’m sure you know this but a persons last-name is no reflection on his ethnicity, like he could be a Kapoor and be a half-hindu carribbean which is what he is in the movie.
I mean, I think it’s ridiculous to expect them to cast someone an exact fit for the role but color blind casting goes both ways so when it gets leaked that Katniss Everdeen had to be White and the poor girls from strait outta compton had to be darker skinned blacks people are gonna get pissed off and start paying excessive scrutiny.
I get they need to crunch out movies to make the Lucasfilm acquisition accretive but at what cost?
Fictional worlds like SW only work because the universe is expansive, believable with a set of semi-defined laws and lore. There doesn’t seem to be anyone managing the known universe over at disney/lucasfilms anymore. All fictional universes will eventually get fractured but this has happened too soon and too irreplaceably. I get eventually they will need to expand beyond the current envelope but it’s too much too soon, with no consistency or VISION.
JJ Abrams writes/directs TFA, refuses to do TLJ, leaves story lines for next guy to work with, they sign Rian who ignores all the previous story lines and kills them off in the first 20mins, directs his own script, then refuses to do Ep9 so he can do a 3 picture spin off. Ep 9, JJ Abrams is back with a story he set up but got butchered and now he has to pick up the pieces. There’s no continuity. Brace yourselves folks. Star Wars is doing a Highlander.
