Sorry, not buying that either…he spent YEARS before in Europe at Ajax and was guilty of biting back then as well - he was well aware that this was wrong and had been reprimanded for it in the past before he even came to Liverpool. Whether he is from the slums or not makes no difference with this. He knew it was wrong and he did it yet again.
Not only this, but after spending so many years in Europe he knew the “N word” was similar in many languages in the area (multinational team mates, playing in europe etc.), and he knew it wasn’t the right word to use and that it would likely be taken as offensive.
His get out clause was that it isn’t used in that way in his homeland but he knew EXACTLY what he was doing. I’m sorry but he had already been exposed to European culture for many years before the Evra incident, so the whole “ignorance is bliss” argument doesn’t really hold up in this case.
I do agree that the FA haven’t really been great when dealing with punishments in the past. Inconsistent sums it up well.
I thought it was a bit of an excessive reaction from Suarez considering that the only difference is that they now need City to lose a game instead of drawing a game. the goal difference thing was never going to happen and they should have taken the 3-0 and hoped that city dropped points in 1 of their 2 games in 5 days.
I still think Suarez will scurry off to Real in the summer for +£80m and a £200k a week contract and Liverpool will go back to scrapping it out with Arsenal for 4th.
agree that city have been the best team over the season.
That dude John.W.Henry basically said mid season that the clause existed and they decided to bluff Arsenal by turning it down.
Balls of steel.
He signed an extension mid year, Liverpool are back in the champions league and will seriously push on from here. They hold the cards. If Suarez goes he’ll go for a world record which would benefit Lpool too though i seriously doubt they’ll sell him.
Arsenal to finally drop out of the top 4 next year, doesn’t matter if they win the FA cup or not. Wenger is finsished and Atletico, Dortmund and to a lesser extent Lpool have shown this season that it is possible to compete on a budget. Wengers excuses are tiresome now.
The only person more annoying than him is Mourinho, He’ll be shown for the fraud he is soon enough.
If i was a gambler I’d throw some money on Mourinho to get sacked within 6 months.
The last part of the 2nd semi with Atletico when they were pushing for a goal or any of the domestic games where the other team has sat back have been crying out for a Juan Mata. Now he’s having a public spat with Hazard.
Mourinho seems to have picked up a bitter nastiness since his 1st stint at Chelsea, the mind games this year screamed of self preservation.

That’s exactly the issue here. I actually think if Mourinho gets the players in the positions he wants during the summer then Chelsea will probably win the league by 10 points or more. He knows Chelsea well from having managed there previously and things have moved on with Abramovich since his first stint as Chelsea manager (he did bring the guy back after all).
If I was a gambling man I’d put money on this rather than Mourinho getting sacked.
I do think he’s going to need more than one good striker though. Ba, Torres and Eto have ALL been found wanting this season. None of them deserve to be in a top 10 team, let alone a top 4 team.
The man has a squad that is the second most expensive in the league and among the top 5 in europe.
Liverpool will finish above him and Atletico knocked him out.
Mata, Oscar, Willian, Hazard, Schurrle should’ve been pure silk to watch. Lukaku could’ve led the line too. The Belgian will become the best in the world sooner or later. Instead they are a drab team that makes it a grind to watch.
This is true, however, Mourinho did touch on a valid point the other day in the post match interview. Once a team scores they then tend to find scoring the next goal easier. Chelsea need someone to open the floodgates and right now they don’t have a striker capable of doing that.
Midfield players who can score are great, but most great teams in years gone by have had a great striker.
Moura is surprising, Coutinho is not a good fit for the team. Maicon I have not followed since Inter, I would have thought he would go with more youth at the WB positions. Best CB line in the world though.
Got to be one of the top 3 teams in the world as well. I looked over the squad and was blown away once I relaized just how much talent was there. Very very impressive.
Got to be favourites to win the World Cup.
Not going to lie, I was a bit dissppointed not to see Ronaldinho in the team after how well he played last season (in partcular during the Copa Libertadores) given that Jo made the squad.
Top 4? yea, The Spaniards, Germans, Argentiniens have better squads man for man. Messi’s supporting cast is unreal this time - Di Maria, Higuain, Tevez and Aguero.
Size is very important when you’re playing a deep, counter attacking style where you can hassle and pressure the other players. Futhermore, it will give you a big advantage in transitions and crosses in front of goal.
Messi’s forward line is great, but Brazil has a better back 4, and Argentina’s midfield is nothing special. Spain has talent, but it is aging, tired, and was badly exposed by this so-called mediocre Brazil team.
