whats the rule, u gotta have 2 guys between goalie and attackers?
^ the Spurs goal should have stood as you can’t be offside in your own half. Vertonghen was in his own half when the ball was played so he was onside
once you’ve crossed the half way line and are in the opponents half, you can’t be further advanced than a defender AND the goalkeeper when the ball is played to you or you’re offside. This was the rule the assistant referee thought he was flagging for but it didn’t matter that the keeper was behind the ball as it was in Spurs half.
the number of match officials that get these 2 rules wrong is incredible, the fact that the referee or 4th official didn’t step in is ridiculous, thankfully it didn’t influence the outcome of the match
Didn’t know Norwegians could play like this:

Reminds me of a Neymar-Isco hybrid.
I read he’s on £40k a week. That’s the same salary as Raheem Sterling
^I think it’s £40k plus bonuses, which is ridiculous for a 16 yr old but not bad for sitting on the bench.
And more than Paul Pogba…
^ I would have thought he’d have been able to negotiate a better contract when leaving Man Utd. I’ve been hearing some rumours that’s he’s going back there in the summer. Seems like a strange deal but I suppose that they’ve had a big regime change since he left. Or maybe he’s just realised how shite Italian football is…
+1 on the shite Italian football.
This is insane. Odegaard looks good in the Norwegian league but then again it is the Norwegian league.
Pogba and Sterling are at fault if they’re not making at least 80k a week. Sterling is overrated though. He’s showing his true colors now that Suarez is gone and Sturridge is injured.
Hardly. He’s being used by Rodgers in a Center Forward role. As a result he’s just waiting for the big hoofs up the field instead of playing with the ball at his feet from the halfway line onwards.
He’s in contract negotations now anyways, he will get a big bump, though it’s probably not a great idea to throw money at the guy since its clear he lacks maturity, but if you don’t he will just join another club. Vicious cycle.
Ps. Diego Costa is a huge cunt.
^ a huge cunt that most fans would love to have on their team.
He’s also tearing it up for me on Fifa 15, paired him with Aguero and they’re unstoppable.
Chelsea fans think Drogba was a great player, this guy is quicker, more skilled, and a better finisher while having the same physique.
I’m no Chelsea fan but i believe Drogba to be one of the best centre forwards to ever play in the Premier League. He was built exactly for the league and for Chelsea’s style of play at the time.
He’s a big game player and he had a habit of scoring important goals. I’m sure I read a statistic about how he scored in every single cup final he’s ever played in.
No Chelsea fan either - Spurs here - but you’ve got to respect the longevity and quality of Drogba’s career. Total shame that the Ivory Coast didn’t make it out of the group stage at the WC. Had it in the bag against Greece and then some fool gave up a silly penalty.
after the draw chelsea sitting pretty
I think Drogba was an above average player on a good team, nothing more than that. No way for me does he fall into the “great strikers” category of Villa, Shevchenko, Henry, Raul, Nistelrooy, Ronaldo etc. category. Now that I think about it even Roy Makaay was a better scorer. Nobody remembers him though.
That assist from Hazard was pure class. As Henry said post match, he drew Ivanovic into playing the pass over the defence.
Loving having Henry on the Sky pundits team. As much as Carra and the Neviller are great pundits, it’s good to have a creative player’s view point.
What a screamer from Coutinho. He’s been Liverpools best player this season
