Hopefully Zlatan will break the curse of never performing when a British audience is watching (barring that wonder goal for Sweden) as a lot of people in the UK still think he’s overrated.

A lot of people in the UK don’t rate Zlatan at all, he seems to reserve his brilliance for when we’re not watching apart from a few good games for Sweden

I believe the Japanese kid is Takefuso Kubo, but we’ll have to see. Lots of players are beasts at youth level.
Zlatan wasn’t bad at Barca, just more of ahem…“character issues”.
Another issue is that despite being supremely gifted, I think it’s difficult to put him into a particular position, much like Berbatov, not a natural striker, not a No. 10, not fast enough to be a winger, yet extremely skilled on the ball and a great goalscorer…
He’s a striker. His goalscoring record shows it.
Is Messi a striker? Is Ronaldo a striker? Is Totti a striker? I think not.
But Zlatan is, that’s where he’s played his entire career.
And Tottis goalscoring record has never been that of a strikers. Less than 1 in 2.
Zlatan isn’t an out and out striker and he’ll never get near the level of Messi and Ronaldo as a forward player.
I still can’t believe Barca paid €50m + Eto’o for him, in my book, that makes Zlatan probably the 2nd highest transfer after Bale.
His attitude is also appalling. that’s why he’s playing in the french league.
That’s based on the assumption that Eto’o was actually 28 at the time…

Eto’o was near the end of his contract then and likely didn’t get on with pep. But yeah I thought it was pretty excessive
No Messi and Ronaldo are not strikers, but they are freaks and not the norm.
Zlatan is a stiker. Led the line throughout his career bar a few seasons as a #10
That doesn’t make any sense, both of their goalscoring records dwarf Ibrahimovic, and Messi plays at the top for Barcelona.

They are freaks/outliers. Messi plays false 9 and he can only play there for a unique team like Barcelona.
