The test is in 8 months!!! scary

time to get serious again. I am starting level 2 studies in serious. did ethics, now on quant, which is going ok, but that is only because i am on corell and scatterplot, which is candy… where is everyone else right now? I feel like i wasted all of september (currently in job search mode), when i should have been studying. We have 8 months!!!

Done with Quants, FI, CorpFin. I ganna start equity this week.

Are you guys kidding me? Geez, I dont plan on starting till about November at the earliest.

this is my first shot @ level 2 and being 29 of age, i cant afford to fail. that is the only reason i started now.

Starting equity right now because it was one of my weakest areas. People have different paces but just make sure you don’t turn the switch on too late. That was my mistake last year. Good lucks guys and let’s keep this up till June!

Agreed. As long as you don’t burn out, I don’t see the harm in starting early for this test, especially if it’s your first time. People on this board should be cheering on these people because when March, April and May roll around, we (I haven’t started studying) are going to need - possibly rely on - these guys to get us up to speed.

starting… to regret staying at clery’s til closing time last night. slated to read some time series today but i’m thinking about calling an audible: couch/football on 3!

I did a read throiugh of Ethics, feel pretty good about quant and econ and am now continuing to try to make sense of FSA…I have done a ready through and taken notes, but trying to remember all the the detail and how it inter-relates is proving to be a little more difficult than I thought… I am hoping to get through Corporate Finance this week and then dive into Equity next week…that is when the real fun begins… Best, TheChad

Chad, how did you find quant? I read from last year Schweser. Corp finance is very easy but FSA is very challenging. S

Folks, Let’s share our insights on L2 as we develop them. I should receive the CFAI books tomorrow …sooner than I thought :frowning: I’ll start with Quant, will keep you guys posted on any interesting. From previous test takers posts it seems that CFAI material is better for Ethics, Fixed Income, Port. Mgmt. I also plan to sign up for Schweser. Ciao

You know what scares me the most? Haha. Alternative Investments done. Fixed income done, except the chapter on binomial. Economics next.

I started this weekend looking at Financial Statement Analysis. Accounting is my weakest poin - so i’ll try to cover it first, while i am still fresh… Good luck to everyone!

Time-Series is definitely the most demanding part but nothing that can’t learned with a little review. FSA is definitely taking longer than I had imagined. I am not too worried about corporate finance as that is a strong point of mine, but I have to get a better handle on FSA before I start thinking ahead. The size of the book is very misleading… Best, TheChad

It might be a good idea to refer to your Level I books if you’ve forgotten something, but I would suggest focusing on Level II material instead.

You guys are nuts. I’m hopefully planning to write level 2 in June next year. Give us Dec. 08 level oners a chance ;D

I’m not too scared right now, but I also haven’t cracked a book yet. I intend on starting my hard-core studying November 22, but I don’t intend on touching the material until then. I’m just afraid that I’ll burn out if I start earlier than that. Kudos on the jump start though. Good luck.

Hello everyone, passed L1 this June. and registered L2 last week. the textbooks of CFA i still on the way. what materials are you using? 2008 Schweser/stalla notes ? I checked w/them, their 09 notes won’t be available until Oct/Nov 08.
