These look correct? (Temporal/All-Current Notes)

*This was longer before, but now it’s been summarized* Summary: - Holding (monetary) liabilities in a deprecating environment results in a gain - Holding (monetary) assets in a depreciating environment results in a loss - Holding (monetary) liabilities in an appreciating environment results in a loss - Holding (monetary) assets in an appreciating environment results in a gain

your summary is right. However , the translation gain/loss depends on parents’ exposure. all current: exposure= net book value = shareholder’s equity temporal : exposure= net moentary asset/lia. those individual assets and lia. ‘s gain and loss have to be netted each to arrive the final number. BTW, in all-current method, the non-monetary asset/lia. also lead to some gain/loss. so focus on parents’ exposure when calculating translation gain/loss under 2 methods will be better than look at each asset/lia.'s gain or loss. here’s an earlier post: http://www.analystforum.com/phorums/read.php?12,953441,953758#msg-953758
