Well my friend i hope your feeling is correct…cos i sure as heck know that any mps near 70 equals retake for me!

I imagine the distribution is clustered very densely around d the 70 percent range for levels 2 and 3. Therefore your band 8s and band 9s are probably very close to the MPS maybe just a few points. I don’t think a 58 is high enough for a band 8. Maybe something in the mid to lower sixties.

just imagin this: band 8 all between 58% - 61% band 9 means 61%-64% band 10 means 64%-67% Pass 67% and above !! I think the range is bigger whenever the band is lower

I don’t think so. Maybe The band 8 should be higher because I know some guys with band 9 pass the exam in the past years.

Those say say its 70% i think it is exaggerated because it simply does not make any sense. Passing rate is 39% because there are always people who dont sit for the exam, who go for the exam but dont study at all, who study a bit, who fail boarder line, taking into consideration those who are retakers … 70% is a SAFE pass…

As I know, CFAI in mock and sample exams asks for 70% as recommended rate to pass. although the MPS fluctuate from year to another. which means MPS is always below 70%

who said 70% is recommended to pass? 70 % is a SAFE pass that is for sure. 65 is boarderline and i guess that’s where ethics is essential.
