Thoughts on 50 basis points cut by the FED

Any thoughts on the impact on sectors such as REIT’s or Consumer Spending? Also, is this the right move by the fed to make everyone happy, in the short term, especially when sub prime is only 0.5% of the total US market Cap or are the feds bailing out investors which clearly is not their role? Wanted to get your thoughts:)

I think it will help in short term. But subprime and alt-a lending are now gone and won’t come back any time soon. In the long run (ie 5 years), I still think the housing prices to go down unless there are further deep cuts.
