Just wanted to give my Vote to Elan Guides (now under Wiley) for 3rd party vendors. I used their materials coupled with the EOC curriculum and things turned out well. I had an Economics background under a school of Liberal Arts, and so my knowlegde of the majority of the topics was quite limited in the beginning. Of course Olinto was great but Basit really helped me with math intensive materials. I’m using them for L2 and so far so good. As for customer service, Ive been using their online products and no problems. I put in well over 300 hours. Good luck to everyone in June
yes I plan on writing L2 in June. Honestly, chances aren’t the greatest but I figued it’ll help for 2016. And who knows maybe I’ll pass. Why aren’t you going to take it?
Prob the same approach as last time. Elan supplemented with EOC curriculum. Although I use the videos to study and I’m worried that might not work given the time constraints. How’s Kaplan working out?
News like this reassures me with my choice to go with Elan/Wiley! Congratulations! Almost done with all of FRA (includes EOC and Blue Box from CFAI and Elan questions) and Ethics (only from Elan). Moving on to Quant now.
If you can share your weekly study plan (for example, 15-20 hours, with 3 hours per weeknight and remainder on weekend?) - please advise would be much appreciated.
I was paranoid of not passing so I gave up almost everything (gym, nightlife, sports, leisurely reading etc) and devoted all my time after work to studying. I think that around Oct I had the “Oh S!!! this is alot of info” moment and started to study from 6-10 P.M Monday-Friday and prob another 8 hours between Sat & Sun. But it turns out that those 4 hours a day werent used efficiently (excessive breaks). Plus I got burned out. I had little motivation the last two weeks (not good) and was just going through the motions really. I think if you do a strong 3 hours per weeknight and another 5 hours during the weekend would be more than enough. I would even consider taking off Fridays to recharge.
I think for L1 full use of Elan, 300 hours and EOC will get you a passing grade. ( I took 3 mocks)
