Tiger Rock Capital

I have received a number of emails from the above firm. In short, their investment strategy is to track the flow of the large investment banks. The returns below (net of commissions) seem way too good to be true. Is this outfit real or are they disciples of the Bernie Madoff school of investing? Profit This Week + 11.25 % April to Date + 16.50 % March + 16.25 % February + 4.92 % January + 23.25 % 4th Quarter / 2008 + 70.56 %

problably taking a lot of risk to get that. madoff had consistent steady returns.

I’m calling b/s - red flags all over the website. Positive double digit returns for 25 out of 27 quarters. http://tigerrockcapital.com “Our track record goes back almost 7 years. If you could be satisfied earning over 40% per year, than there is a good possibility that you would be very satisfied with our work. Below are the raw return before commissions.” ^wtf? Reactions from the website: “I never realized that you can do well in any type of economy.” “Trading is a tough business and this service makes is much easier for me to do good.” “These calls are just uncanny and in many ways unbelievable until you get started.” Disclaimer page from the website: “ONE OF THE LIMITATIONS OF HYPOTHETICAL PERFORMANCE RESULTS IS THAT THEY ARE GENERALLY PREPARED WITH THE BENEFIT OF HINDSIGHT.” “The material presented herein has been obtained or derived from sources believed to be accurate, but we do not guarantee its accuracy. There have been no promises, guarantees or warranties suggesting that any trading will result in a profit or will not result in a loss. SUBSCRIBER is responsible for his own actions regarding any decisions made in any account that they are related to.”

Madoff had no returns, but yes did portray them as consistent with negligible volatility. Putting aside risk, I’m wondering whether the above returns are even feasible (+198.8% since 9/30/08)?

Since the SEC totally wiffed on Madoff, maybe this is their opportunity for redemption

Nope, they don’t manage any money. This is just a subscription service. From the “terms of use” section: 1. so basically they create rumours that ABC chinese company is next google and stupid people read that in some forum and start buying this like crazy. Then Tim Sykes and his followers short this security. Wall Street is a ponzi scheme.

I like their logo though.

What really pisses me off is that all the “reactions” are clearly faked by the same guy - they all have similar grammatical mistakes and moronic wording. F’ing hate frat-boy DB’s who create shyte like this.

people like this make us all look bad, atleast madoff had some class when he was ripping people off.

“We use no trends, or esoteric indicators. It is not based off of past historical studies, quantum physics, or any other form of optimized data.” I bet they seriously think “Quant” refers to quantum physics. Feckin’ dicks.

That’s gold I love this whole paragraph though (including the bit of html which snuck onto the page!): "The Key Over the years we found one key that makes sense and produces sustainable, long term results. Over the years we have developed a powerful flagship approach. It is Simple, Efficient, - Substantial. We use no trends, or esoteric indicators. It is not based off of past historical studies, quantum physics, or any other form of optimized data. What we do is follow the program trading activity of 7 major investment banks worldwide. The underlying truth is with billions of dollars at stake, program trading managers/algorithms make very few mistakes. Thus, when they come together to buy, we buy. When the come together and sell, we sell. The simplicity of our approach is the reason we have survived in some of the most volatile periods of history. This Key allows us to confidently serve private investors around the world. It is why we should be a part of most any portfolio!

Cost: $275 / Month Do Americans consider this type of money small? For me this is more than my house rent

Don’t compare Rupees and USD. There are many stupids in US who will invest in this ponzi scheme with a dream to make big. 198% return…isn’t the key word to attract foolish investors?

Do not use Tiger Rock Capital Research auto trade product! I looked into them for a while and looked at their historical trends, which seemed to be un-real and that is exactly what it turned out to be. For the past 18 months, through the toughest market of all times, their lowest monthly return was advertised to be 5%. That was interesting because since I started using their services, I did have a single profitable month. For the 3 months that I was with them, I lost 20% of my asset. So I just stopped trading with them and wanted to get the word out, so no one makes my mistake. They told me it is due to the market climate, but it is funny because during the July, Aug and Sep 2009 that I was with them, we had the best market. For a $1,200 per month product and high commissions of Striker, I expected to at least come close to S&P500 return. I have to admit that some of the trade just broke even, but because of the Striker’s expensive commission and the huge monthly software fee, they turned into major losers. This was so suspicious that I also reported them to SEC.

They advertised “Consistent Consistency” on their website…

Awesome! They’ve done studies, you know. 60% of the time it works, every time. Its made with bits of real panther so you know its good.

This makes me feel sad.
