Hey All, I’m wondering what technique you will be using to master reading the vignettes? what is the best approach? is it: 1) Read the questions first and then read the vignette 2) Read the question and find that specific answer in the vignette or 3) Read the vignette, scribble notes, and then attempt the questions We have 18 minutes for each vignette on the exam, so I’d be curious to hear how others are planning to do this… Any tips are appreciated John_CTD
Quick read through the case, underline important/key words…read the questions and go back and find the answere in the case.
Rather 1). Objective: have a quick overview of what are the questions so that you pay more attention to the relevant information in the vignette.
I go with the questions first then read the vignette.
i want to read the questions first but will slightly depend on how large the written piece is
I’d go with reading the questions first because that way you will look for the key words for the question.
I haven’t decided yet. Maybe some more mock exams and I’ll know. I do have the feeling that the time pressure won’t be as much of a factor for L2.
Questions first has been working for me, the pattern I’ve noticed is generally the 1st question relates to the first paragraph and so on, it keeps me from getting bogged down in unnecessary details.
READ THE QUESTION FIRST.
to those who actually took the level 2 before, are the questions itself very long?
nope…questions are short and sweet…
i find that i am left with almost an hour with the schweser practise exams, how was it in the real exam last year?. i guess time is not an issue for L2?. if so, i’ll take a minute or two to go thru the vignette
really? time is not an issue for L2? i certainly hope this is true.
Not decided yet, more towards 3. currently. averaging around 16min/vin Might change to 1 and check. Any better ideas
I usually just pick c. it has worked well for me in the past, plus its much faster.
I don’t read parts in paragraph form.
last year c or d worked well for sure
