Has anyone taken the L3 Sample exams yet ($40 direct from CFA)? If so, what topics were tested? If not, when do you plan to start?
My strategy is to wait to start all the samples and mocks until roughly 2 weeks until test day. I concentrate on EOC questions up until then. This may not work for anyone else, but it has paid off for me twice.
^^ sounds pretty solid. I remember people from the L2 forum last year who over did it, i.e. who were finished with all mocks like 2-3 weeks before the exam, and failed.
Hi, I started last year in mid May. But if you’re ready to take them now, I think you should go ahead. It will give you even more time to review your weaknesses and learn about the subtilities of the exam. Good luck to you all Guys!
yeah i agree, start taking them now. I plan on taking first one this weekend. With the 2 schweser practice exams, cfa mock and sample exams, cfa old exams and schweser mock, there are more than 10 practice exams. We are 10 weeks out, I’m going to be taking one a weekend from here on out and then reviewing it.

Starting the exams with a steady pace until the real deal gets me in a rhythm of taking an exam/week. It also helps to focus my review in the final two months. I have a list of topics I’m going to hit again, but the mocks help to find the other areas that are a bit weak.
Why it says $100 on my test centre when I log in? I can not find the $40 exam.

Very true, but if you haven’t covered the material at least once you’re probably wasting the practice exam.

that was the hardest thing for me in L3. trying to figure out when to get on practice/sample exams. somewhat pointless to do them too early when you don’t really know the material. but the material takes a long, long time to master… so i think to a greater extent than L2, you have to think of the exams as learning aids as much as figuring out where you’re at. basically the earlier the better i think, presuming you have some comfort with the material. in L2, i thought 2 weeks before was too late, and believe it or not in L3 i thought 6 weeks ahead was too late. L3, it is hard to do everything you want to do. so pick what you need to do. for me, going thru schweser fast a bunch of times has always been best. the exam is broad but very, very shallow.
Hi Mates I am from India. I have registered to take the test at Kathmandu. Now, CFA institute permits change of Centre to India subject to court ruling etc. I am yet to decide whether to change to India or go ahead with test at Kathmandu. I shall be thankful if anyone from India having past exam taking experience at Kathmandu to advise about the logistics (hotel, commuting to test centre etc) at Kathmandu. Tks
