Does anybody feel that the topic tests take forever to do at times?
I set myself about 18 mins (3 mins per question) for a single topic test. It takes me a little over than 18 mins, but sometimes I just get stuck on some questions so badly and find it difficult to just move on, despite not knowing how to even proceed to solve the question.
In 2 hours, I might be lucky enough to complete 3 topic tests, which includes time to correct/research for answer… Should I be moving faster than this? I really wish I could… I know that it’s not as simple compared to Schweser’s Qbank where I can do like 30 questions in about 2 hours (also including time to understand the solution/mistakes I made). Anyone got tips on how I can improve my time spent on these?
Dont worry. The real exam wont be as “wordy” as the topic tests. The real exam will be more similar to the style of End-of-Reading case studies, which is much easier to read and understand relative to the topic tests.
In my final week revision, I completed 10 topic tests in excess of 3 hours while in the real exams, I completed AM & PM in 2 hours each.
Remember: The real exam will be a mix of easy-medium-hard questions. The topic tests are designed to contain hard questions only to avoid you from underestimating the real exam.
I don’t know if doing the cfa topics is helpful. Too far away from the real exam and the wording is also really bad. The same for Qbank, I don’t think it’s helpful for level 2 since there are not so many vignettes.
I also find Qbank questions to be too easy at times, but there are instances where I may have not covered a small topic through EOCs or Topic tests, that will show up in the qbank. I think it’s good for covering a broad base of questions.
