Total Compensation of CFA Candidates

I wish i had the balz (or the wife) to let me get a motorcycle… i went to school with this crazy italian guy (born in italia) who would do wheelies down the street for 4-5 blocks (i was on the back). It was AWESOME.

My salary doesn’t fit the scale since I’m effectively negative $xx,xxx.xx for this last year. Damn education loans.

There is nothing wrong with his posts. I am starting to see something wrong with you newsuper. Its a discussion forum. He is entitled to ask questions. Sure you are entitled to judge him and tell him, he is pretty useless. But what good will come out of you doing that?

The Pawn-master is some kind of CFA plant or recruiting spy or CFA-groupie or faux researcher who is using the anonymity of the interwebs to gather information on CFA candidates under false pretenses. Its so obvious as to be hilarious and he or she should take his sh*t elsewhere. He is blocking my view of good posts. Or he or she should be upfront about it and tell peeps he is conducting a study/research/etc. and then he wont get constantly ignored or abused. And as for you - go get your shine box.

One Hundred Billion Dollars! *holds pinkie to mouth*

this ****And as for you - go get your shine box ******* = ether

I make over four figures a year (USD)

As none of you gave honest answers, you are all obviously poor biatches. I make 110K base + all the extra crap for a package of about $150K in ALM in Bermuda. Should change my name to BankenAin’tEasy

Yes… its because we are so poor that we have declined to respond. That is the answer. Of course. Its so obvious. I see what you did there.

I am going to have some fun and answer this question honestly (since no one SHOULD be able to figure out who I am). Total comp last year was 230K…but I have an MBA from a top school…rhymes which Bunversity of Bicago. My highest total comp was 2006 and I made 375K. Does that help?

All too often I feel I’m being paid in attaboys.

Pawn, if you want useful information, contact CFAI, they have published an extensive (and I believe ongoing) study of CFA charter holders, their salary ranges given level of experience, geography, and type of firm at which their skills are employed. It is pretty safe to say the data they have gathered from CFAI members and Candidates is going to be much more accurate than anything cobbled together from comments made in an anonymous forum designed for an entirely different purpose. As anyone in the L3 Forum will tell you there are important characteristics that are required of any benchmark. The very nature of CFA Candidacy means you have not yet earned the CFA Charter, so one may question the point of benchmarking those that do not qualify for the CFA designation. That aside, It is also important to understand that “compensation” is a general term that includes base salary, variable bonuses, vacation, health benefits, and other perks. For your “survey” to be a valid comparison you would need to clarify each bucket of compensation, the geographical region, currency, and age in order to glean any useful information.

So do those that ask for compensation information. In fact, that person is a super DB.

Are u saying I am DB for just trying to help someone. Fine then I am DB. It is all anonymous so who cares? It is a data point. Are people DB for posting that they had a Mock Score above 90? Even though I didn’t score above 90 I wasn’t jealous of them. This is a weird post.

No. I think he is still calling out Pawn as a DB (not you) because a while back someone said Pawn should post his (since Pawn is the one looking for the info) and he hasn't. Just my .02.
