I work for an asset manager, but I used to trade for an I-Bank. I have about 10 years experience. I feel I needed to to get a CFA to prove to people that I was serious about asset managment. Please believe me, all you candidates, that the job thing will get better for our industry. Talk to anyone who’s been in the business for 25 years, and this is the worst anyone has seen it! Get your CFA, and when things open back up, you will be glad you did!!! That is why I want to post more info. Your group of CFA/MBAs have it very rough, and I thought it would be good to keep you guys motivated. Most of you CFAs in ten years will be making 250K a year average (some much more). Look at the CFAI data from 2007. STAY ON THIS TRACK, IT IS WORTH IT. OK…enough of the rah rah stuff.

No, sct hit closer to the mark. But let’s face it, it’s not like this is being used as any sort of scientific sample. I mean really, a “data point”? A handful of people anonymously responding to a random thread does not make for a reliable survey. So no, I wasn’t calling you out for responding. However, the fact you did respond, then claimed it was just to help a dude out (when you really just wanted to throw your comp out there) for a survey you believe could be legit…well, yes then, you might be a douche bag. Sorry dude.

Dude thanks for the post, i honestly lost faith in the CFA a long time ago and wondered if i just wasted a good part of my early to mid 20s on this stupid freakin exam.

Sorry dude. Got it…you are awesome. Best of luck in life

@ jsjrcomcast big homie giving a little hope that the pain and suffering may be worth it after all …true sample size of 1 (confirming evidence?) but still thanks bro/sis

My apologies. Just too many people unemployed or grunting it out at the entry level to flaunt comp. Everyone goes into finance to make money, and if you stick it out and you’re halfway decent at it you’ll make six figures pretty fast, CFA or no CFA.

Indian Rupees ? I am a multi-millionaire !

After 5 months of studying, I’ve lost my figure. My stomach has been doing a lot of empire building. Too many late-night Cadburys!

Posting your compensation on the internet is a lose-lose scenario. If it’s low, you seem like a loser. If it’s high, you seem like a douche. That’s probably why hardly anyone posted it here.

Then what is the median salary equidistant from the two extremes that avoids any loserhood or d-baggery? $90K + 10% bonus?

did someone ask me why I hate the lurkers?

Doing some research and it’s expensive as all hell…
