Any tricks for memorizing the total-return decomposition vs. performance attribution formulas?
Try to decompose it by yourself…then you will find out no need of memorization.
In summary, the active return = market alloc + security selection + currency component
The formula in micro attribution, global evaluation, and multi period attribution are similar, but the differencse do exist.
