Trouble sleeping

Since I began the program I’m averaging 1-2 nights a week of good, solid sleep. The rest I feel as if I’m sleeping very light and my mind is racing… It’s the weirdest feeling. The only way I can describe it is… my eyes are closed, I’m lying down, and technically asleep, but my mind racing 100 mph (mostly related to the curriculum - formulas, goals, study schedule, need to buy mock exams, problems)… Even crazier, my wife walked in the other night… I was already asleep and she said I blurted out “sum of squared errors, sum of squared errors”… pretty sick Anyway, just wanted to rant a little, but is anyone else having similar problems since enrolling in the program?

I haven’t but I’ll probably get there as we approach June. Keep on Grinding the books!

Haha, yep, im all over this. I keep having dreams about what i have been studying and hoping that it is either helping me remember or not making me re-learn it a wrong way. But i noticed this was early on in my studies and has largley died down now. How long have you been studying for? If it hasnt been long i would say once you relax into the workoad you will settle down a bit. If it has been around for a while you need to find a way to relax a bit and get your mind off it, easy to think about this exam all the time and for me that results in lots and lots of dreams.

It’s February, test is June… if you keep this up your wife is going to ask for a divorce. In all seriousness, you have plenty of time. With hardwork you’ll kill this.

While laying down, I go over everything in my head that I studied that day before I go to sleep. Usually by the time I’m finished going through everything, I tend to doze off. I took the exam and failed in Dec., so I’m sure I’ll get a bit more restless and anxious again as exam time approaches.

I have the exact opposite problem from yours. I have a trouble on staying awake at work due to lack of sleep at night x_x

I wish I was dreaming about CFA topics. Its got to be helping with retention. And good idea Kevin, I think I’ll go ahead and review CFA material before falling sleep. Hopefully I’ll get to the point where I’m reciting formulas, concepts, etc. out loud in my sleep.

Dude. If this exam is keeping you up at night in February, you must have had a pretty darn fantastic life without any stress thus far. Good job.

If this is happening to you, you are doing a good job with your studies. Your brain is filing and storing all of that information for you.

i had dreams of studying the curriculum and solving problems in my dreams when i didnt know how to solve when i was awake.
