Uh-oh. Comment over at the Huffington Post under DNC article. Many more just like it. Jen Foster Brooklyn, New York I loathe Trump, but CHEATERS SHOULDN’T WIN.
Yawn. Serious analysts (are there any here?) who want to understand probable outcomes in these types of situations, should really look at things from a macro-historical perspective. That takes years of reviewing history, before you can see the patterns across history. But it’s pretty darn useful, basically a crystal ball.
We’ve seen it all before. Different decade, different name, same repetitive stuff…
Oh, I’m going to make a killing on derivatives, I have a monster trap all set for late October. There’s no way the market has this baked in…just like Brexit, they’ll start thinking about it last minute and scramble for expensive puts…from me. MUHAHAHA!
The non-palatables in regard to Trump are well know. Nobody will be surprised to see another Hillary ad showing Trump mocking a handicap reporter. I would guess new supporters from this point on will be on board through election day. And certainly Trump will drive a better turnout. Will we see another switch in the polls? What’s interesting is that Trump taking the popular and HRC taking the electoral college is not off the table.
Investment strategy seems relevant, this is an investment industry website in case you forgot.
So, what is your plan for managing Trump downside risk? Haven’t even thought about it yet? Just “wing it”, “think about it when we get there” perhaps? Perhaps just babble for months about who you want to win, and then get killed in the market when they do win?
It will be fun to check back if Trump wins, see how ya’ll like the impact.
I don’t think the market really cares which of Hillary or Trump wins the election. Both will not really change anything - Trump because he cannot, and Hillary because she will not.
We already saw what Trump’s NATO comments did, even as a candidate. I thought you AF guys were always talking about black swans and tail risk and all that? What would your hero Taleb say?
It’s going to be a f@#$ing disaster guys, eight long years of volatility.
