Upcoming FP&A interview with credit union

Hey everyone,

I applied online, passed the phone screen. I have an interview next week with the VP.

Job responsibilities: profitability/cost analysis, assist with the annual budget, and assist in month/quarter/year-ends closing process

The description also calls for a strong knowledge of finance/accounting and knowledge of FI operations which I honestly don’t have. I graduated almost two years ago and have no relevant experience tbh. I’m hoping I won’t get grilled on technicals since they’ll see my lack of experience on my resume.

Any advice?

How much time do you have? How big is the credit union?

If you haven’t had the interview, I’d pull a UBPR and make sure that you understand all the ratios on the first page. And I’d read about internal routines and controls from bank examination manuals. An example https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.fdic.gov/regulations/safety/manual/section4-2.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwiw7Y387obhAhXFmq0KHXGIBWYQFjAAegQIARAB&usg=AOvVaw0m53kBHwGylm3ltlKixGgl

Show enthusiasm so that they know you are willing to learn. Have examples ready of you being a fast learner. If you don’t already, know all the differences between a credit union and a bank in case you get asked.

what if youre not a fast learner?

That’s like asking me what life is like if you’re not good looking… no idea what that’s like so don’t have an answer.

You’re slow mo than… missed many girls’ hints.
