US GAAP - you expense R&D right?

with IFRS i know you expense research / capitalize develpment but my mind is cluttered. thx

depends. you can capitalize it in the US. but, it’s far more common to expense it.

so i need some clarity with R&D US GAAP - expense IFRS - research expense development capitalize is this correct for the exam?

GAAP - research and development is expensed. IFRS - Reasearch is expensed development is capitalized Also GAAP, for software costs, they are expensed until technological feasibility is established and then it is capitalized. I am pretty certain that is correct. Good luck tomorrow.
