variation of portfolio returns on CFA Exam

Let’s see if I can sneak this one by Chad… “Real” Subject- It’s Friday Folks!!! What’s everyone doing this weekend?? (I am trying to see if Chad just moves the topics by the subject name or if he actually clicks on the threads and reads them.)

Just curious what your background is so I can have someone to compare myself to so I know what I need to do in order to be on that level.

2 years actuary 4 years investment consulting (at time of matriculation) – advise institutional clients (pension plans, endowments, etc.) on investment decisions accelerated promotion, pretty decent leadership opportunities; we have 7 analysts that I and this other associate supervise I’m 27 now (turn 28 when I start MBA program) bad GPA, great GMAT (99th percentile) CAIA, FRM, CFA level 3 candidate decent amount of extracurr (2 things i’m dedicated in), but have never done anything like habitat for humanity, teach for america, food drives, marathons, etc. story/theme centered on risk management and asset/liability management goal (per essay): want to continue in pensions, leading research on different asset classes (focus more on asset allocation decisions rather than manager/stock selection). want to do more macro-based things (beta focused), like SAA/TAA That’s just my “story” when developing my application. to be honest, not sure what i want to do… i’ll probably join the finance club, PE/VC club, and the consulting club, so I can get as many opportunities as I can (as time permits).

thanks…that will be a good help for me

Shouldn’t you look at people after they get into the program? Anyone can apply, but 9/10 will be rejected.

if i can get to the interview then its up to me after that point is my thinking

you are the man Adalfu

CFAcountry… here http://gmatclub.com/forum/calling-all-wharton-2011-applicants-95623-960.html read this year’s application thread. you can follow the older ones and see those that have been admitted (and their profiles). i’m fairly active on that forum as well.

I guess the thread has now turned relevant, so no need to move it to the Back Office. You will need a new way to test your hypothesis.
