Going to Vegas two weeks before LII. Great idea right… So we’re flying back at 6AM on Sunday, another great idea, and I am a little concerned about being hammered drunk trying to weave my way through the TSA grope zone. Although it’s Vegas and they expect passengers to be blitzed, how hammered is hammered before they don’t let you on the plane…?
Man, you are crazy going to Vegas two weeks before LII. I went about three weeks ago for a bachelor party and I have still not recovered. We flew back at 8am Sunday. No patdowns no nothing. The TSA staff were very friendly.
The timing couldn’t have been worse. If the guy wasn’t such a good friend I definitely would not be going. Fortunately, I am only going to be there for ~36 hours.
My buddy had organized his bachelors party the weekend before the Exam this year. Fortunately, it turns out 3 of us couldn’t make it that weekend. (all 3 and the buddy are super-tight). Now “the Vegas” is happening for us on the Thursday - Sunday right after the 2011 exam. I can’t imagine I’ll remember anything until at least the next week. A guy who’s been pounding the books for roughly 4 months, over-worked, all of a sudden gets to be in Vegas with nothing to worry about for 4 days with a bunch of guys who would jump at every opportunity to get wasted… Sounds like a plan!!
That does sound like quite the plan. The majority of the guys on our trip are finishing up law school in a few weeks. They will all start studying for the bar exam the Monday after week get back from Vegas. Fortunately or unfortunately, however you look at it, I am a LII retaker and feel pretty good about the exam right now. iginla, where are you guys staying in LV?
We’ve got some suites booked at the Aria. What about you?
Iginla2010 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > We’ve got some suites booked at the Aria. What > about you? We’ll be at the Aria also. It looks like a pretty slick place. The pool looks sweet and the hotel seems centrally located on the strip. I think the Bellagio and Wynn are within walking distance. I’ll have to let you know how everything turns out. There’s 12 of us so we should definitely do some damage.
Right on dude! 2 of the guys who are coming with us just stayed at Aria about a month ago. They said it’s perfect. Location is the main reason why we went with it. Sounds like you’re going to have some fun. We’ll be around 25 of us! Fill me in when you’re back.
I’ve gotten on planes absolutely blitzed before. You can stink as much as you want. The question is can you walk in a straight and orderly manner. My suggestion is to order yourself a wheel chair ahead of time. Then just sit down and let them take you straight to the gate. It’s a trick I picked up on here in India, where 90 percent of the people who order wheel chairs can walk just fine, but literally enjoy feeling like the maharaja being pushed through the airport by their man.
Hey chuck I’m in the exact same boat as you, bachelor party 2 weeks before the exam…still sitting on the fence because I’m kinda broke; but it will be absolutely retarded. 15 guys in so far, 3 of the main guys are definitely alcoholics and they’ve got a suite that sleeps 9 (at I believe bellagio or the palms)…most of the guys going are engineers in the Oil/Gas sector, so they got money to blow. Good thing for me is that i’m feeling confident about my exam preparation (level I), so the lost time isn’t too bad…yeah I forgot to mention Vegas is home to my former employer and I have a good number of buddies down there…talk about being conflicted.
You’ll be fine. The airport was littered with lifeless, drunken bodies waiting by their gates. Just don’t curse too much or yell too loudly about the ridiculous $hit you did and you’ll be good. Aria is right by the Bellagio - don’t walk to Wynn from there. We went to XS at Encore (stayed at The Cosmopolitan one night and then Bellagio other two nights) and it was definitely a drive. The best recommendation I can make is to call the Spearmint Rhino at like 2 in the afternoon on Saturday - don’t go there on a Friday night. Have them send a limo to pick you up, get there, order $100 bottles (at 8 they go to $400) - and run that place. Tell the afternoon shift JCole and the lebron bombers say hello. Don’t blow your wad (ha!) until 5 or 6, that was when the hotties started cycling in. If you’re going to go to the ‘back’ room ($100 / 3 songs), get a dance on the floor, and then try to get it comped if you’re willing to do the $100 deal. 50% success rate and gives you a chance to screen the talent before committing to the hundy. If you throw at least $200 on the main stage they may call up a dude with a swiffer and garbage bag - that happened once and quite a few people stood up and applauded at the effort - hilarious stuff. Their turkey burger is the bomb and there food was actually good. Have fun and watch out for the pros. One guy wasted the night at XS macking a chick he though was feeling him who turned out to be a prosti.
Keep us posted guys. I’ll be there in Dec just before I start studying for Level III/Level II retake.

jcole21 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > The airport was littered with > lifeless, drunken bodies waiting by their gates. Yep, I was one of them.
@ igninla - Nice! 25 dudes a helluva big bach party crew. You guys are definitely going to do some damage to LV and hopefully pull some wool to balance out that sausage. I will spare no detail in my report. That’s awesome timing for you. I’m jealous. @ spreads - I didn’t really want to spend the money either and seriously considered not going due to the looming exam. The groom is a really good friend and I date his fiance’s sister so I feel double obligated. If you’re feeling good about the exam I say go to LV. The CFA exam will always be there and for me personally I don’t want to miss out on the memories/partying/strippers/etc… I’m also taking off the week before the exam from work so it’s a good opportunity to blow off some steam and then really hunker down. @ chicken - Haha that is a great idea. I have a chronic problem of passing out if I sit down in a comfortable seat when I’m in the blackout zone. If I pass out it’s highly unlikely that I’ll be awake to board the plane. I’ll have to think this one through. @jcole - XS looks solid. I’m digging the strip club idea. It’s Vegas so people party 24/7 so the idea of only going to a strip club at night only to pay full (700% markup) is ridiculous. I’d rather hit up some b00bies during the day and then just do some sloppy gambling late night after the club/bar. I’ll make sure to name drop. 23 days until LV. I’m so ready to rage!
Spearmint Rhino is at it’s busiest after 2 am. Our plan is to get wasted all day and then show up at the Rhino at around 1 or so. I think they’ve booked a whole section for us already. Plus there will be lots of action going on at our suites beforehand. everything else is fair play including action inside limos, etc. It will all be bankers/money managers/wealth management guys. Plus we also have a CEO and a CFO of a public company in the mix. It’ll be a gong-show.
i recommend crazy horse iii, the mmmmmmf ratio at the rhino around 2-4am is absurd
Wow, i look forward to reading about the escapades on dealbreaker
Mobius Striptease Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > i recommend crazy horse iii, the mmmmmmf ratio at > the rhino around 2-4am is absurd I agree on the ratio. Some of the guys have their favorite girls at the Rhino. That’s why we will end up there anyhow. Although some of us might just head back to the suite for some private action. This is going to be my craziest Vegas trip. I’m having a hard time studying because they talk about it at lunch everyday.
Am i the only one who even in his single years never understood the value of strip clubs?
