It’s because the after tax cost of debt falls.
This strikes me as one of those things that Reaganomics would say really works in the opposite direction somehow. According to Wiki, Stockman lives right here in Greenwich. I’m going to find him and ask him.

So you probably wouldn’t be able to find him now.
