Any one ever heard of Wall Street Prep? They offer certification in Financial Statement & Valuation Modelling and is accredited by the CFA Institute. I am interested in it in addition to CFA so I can enhance my skills and give me an added edge in the job market. Can anyone give me their opinion?
I took the self study course a few years ago. Overall, I was satisfied with the product and learned a lot from it. In hindsight, I think the better approach would have to been to go through the CFA program and then take WSP as they don’t really explain the financial statement adjustments in great detail. As to whether or not it will give you a definite edge is questionable, but it sure doesn’t hurt to have it on your resume.
My firm paid for WSP seminar. If you have no modeling experience, I’d recommend it as even the basics can trip you up b/c you’re simply not use to doing it. Though, don’t expect much depth as bpdulog hinted at.
Check AF archives for an old thread on this. I’m currently doing WSP now and suggest you also take a look at Wall St. Training as well.
