We finally did it...

We (AF) made it into the CFAI Ethics Reading Etienne is a real AF handle too. Wonder if he/she was the one busted? Candidates increasingly use online forums and new technology as part of their exam preparations. CFA Institute actively polices blogs, forums, and related social networking groups for information considered confidential. The organization works with both individual candidates and the sponsors of online or offline services to promptly remove any and all violations. As noted in the discussion of Standard I(A)–Knowledge of the Law, candidates, members, and the public are encouraged to report suspected violations to CFA Institute Example 5 (Sharing Exam Content): Level I candidate Etienne Gagne has been a frequent visitor to an internet forum designed specifically for CFA Program candidates. The week after completing the Level I examination, Gagne and several others begin a discussion thread on the forum about the most challenging questions and attempt to determine the correct answers. Comment: Gagne has violated Standard VII(A) by providing and soliciting confidential exam information, which compromises the integrity of the exam process and violates the Candidate Pledge. In trying to determine correct answers to specific questions, the group’s discussion included question-specific details considered to be confidential to the CFA Program. CFA Institute works with candidates and the sponsors of such online discussion boards and forums to remove information of this specific nature from these websites.

Poor Etienne. He’s gonna have his exam voided, and perhaps some 2-5 years suspension from the Program too. Public Censure most likely.

I looked at those drop down lists and it appears requesting a hearing panel is quite worthless.

Best practice is to bow gracefully and take the private censure (slap on the wrist). JDV has spent 5 figs on lawyers fighting the CFAI, and they don’t play fair. His lawyer requested some information one time, and the reply from the CFAI was, “That’s none of your business.”

I’ve only heard of the JDV, not seen any of his tracks here.

Always said the French were cheaters; shame on you Ettiene! If you take the exam in Asia literally everyone in the facility has bootleg copies of their schweser notes open before the exam and during lunch. They should get that one in their.

Beef with Chad, or CFAI?

JDV just got busy with his life/wife/etc. I remember when he was a frequent poster, those were the good ol days. People would post very challenging questions and JDV would answer with ease. Now that he is gone, the general discussion board has gone way downhill with brainrotting garbage. JDV and Chad were chummy. They spoke offline at times. CFAI and Joey were chummy too, he was a testimonial on the CFAI website at one point.

http://ddo.typepad.com/ddo/2005/09/dear_ken_go_fck.html JDV is a CFA Charterholder. PCP was resolved. JDV and Ken G got into it and Ken tried to fck him.

That was not Ken G, another Ken
