what did I found searching the forum

HOW DOES THIS THREAD HAS GONE AND WHY D’YOU BOTHER TO READ IT Well, after 08/18 I slept on average several hours a day only. I am not going to tell you what I have been feeling; but I can tell you what I have been doing: I am searching the forum. Yes, I started from the last page and moved toward today; there were some interesting things which happen here every year. In the late August, 2005 on, you can find some threads from people who failed Level 2 for the nth time. Year after year (5 years totally) I found different reactions which could be worth to classify. I do not bother to put here the links, but believe me I saw every thread I am talking about and you can easily repeat my exercise. WHAT DID I FOUND Hmm, it’s interesting to start from those who failed twice. People fail Level 2 and this is not a big deal; most of the re-takers clear the level after the second attempt (just search their results the next year). The consensus after the second fail is ‘go on’. Forum residents definitely try to cheer them up, and that happens in every single case. The ‘break-even’ comes after the third fail (by the way, if you care – just check what’s going on with the 3-timerts, but I afraid the forum does really represent the 3-timers). After the 3rd fail one can read comments advising her to ‘hang it up’ and seize her attempts. That comments became stronger with the number of fails and for one who got his 6th fail the consensus was ‘quit it’. …just as a matter of curiosity.

you do have a lot of spare time:) whts ur next analysis gonna be ? just curious

No, I work long hours and in regular situation would feel like I am dying from exhaustion; but after I got my 3rd fail and realised that the game’s over I cannot sleep at night and all I can do is to read the forum. Consering the next analysis - it will come out and you will see.

It should be “what did i find”

From this and other of your posts I gather you need to find a better approach. Your fact-finding projects are useless unless you can draw correct and actionable conclusions.

While searching the forum, I am managing an Excel file which includes the author’s name, her strategy in 200X, the 200X pass/fail, the comments after the exam, her strategy in 200X+1 and so on. that gives me to build a pivot table which explains for me what works and what does not work with the prepareation strategy. i am based on the facts and not on the feelings. the results are interesting - even for me!

To the TS: It sounds like you are traumatised by your CFA experience. I honestly think you should quit the forum (I say this without irony and respectuly), it can’t be good for you to stick around. On the other hand, why don t you give it another go ? I was a level II failure like you for a year and I just passed it. In any case I would give up that loser gig of yours. It’s amusing for others, but it can’t be good for you.

Right. Just take it again without overanalyzing things. You can take it as many times as you want. Who cares as long as you finally get it. I know guy who took 7 years to clear level 2.

The conclusion are not going to prove much. For example you will always find people who followed X and passed and an equal no who did the same and failed. I failed L1 twice so I can see your pain. But all I suggest is to take 2 months break, have fun and maybe you would wanna try again. The fact that you are still here is a sign that somewhere you haven’t given up. What I learned from my failures is that its better to give 2x effort once, than giving x effort several times. Its like climbing a mountain.
