What does it mean when an executive says "world class asset"?

Does it mean that its just very, very good? Best in the industry?

No idea, just corporate-speak / mumbo jumbo. It could mean anything but probably means nothing.

It means he’s got an inflated ego, or he feels forced to say that kind of crap for marketing reasons. If an asset is “world class,” it should either be self-evident, or it means that something relatively unknown is as good as the industry leaders.

I have a world class asset.

If you google search, ‘Serena Williams butt’, you’ll have the answer to your question.

This is sort of what I thought… Just investor relations buzzwords. It would be so swell to see an executive that just speaks frankly.

i think its meant to differentiate between a good asset on a country level and good asset on a world level. For example, Copper Mountain’s asset is a major project for British Columbia but it is in no way a world class asset due to its relatively small size, low production rate and low grade. Should Copper Mountain’s management attempt to call it a “world class mine”, they should be laughed off the stage. On the other hand, nobody can refute that Northern Dynasty’s Pebble mine is world class. Same could be said for Ivanhoe/RIO’s Uyo Tolgoi mine. Irrefutably world class.

My money is on Serena Williams to win the Australian Open this year. World Class Asset.
